You are receiving this message because you were previously registered for the Accessible Taxi Program (ATP) as administered by the Kingston Area Taxi Licensing Commission. In November 2025, the City assumed administration of the ATP.

Accessible transportation options in Kingston are still available and the Accessible Taxi Program is continuing with some changes. You can find on-demand accessible taxis from the providers listed below:

  • Modern City Taxi at 613-542-3333
  • Amey's Taxi at 613-546-1111

These local companies provide both regular accessible taxi services and reduced-cost subsidized rides through the ATP.

The new accessible taxi program will begin on Jan. 1, 2026.

ATP coverage is only available within the geographic boundaries of the City of Kingston and the transit service area of Loyalist Township. If you travel outside of those areas, the fare will be the full fare.

Accessible taxi service in Kingston is intended as an enhancement to public transit and Kingston Access Bus, not a replacement. The City recognizes the value of providing flexibility for accessible transportation by offering subsidized taxi services.

Subsidized taxi trips are limited to the booking of two trips per rider per day, and also limited daily, overall, to ensure the program's sustainability. Individuals are recommended to make reservations ahead if possible. If needed, additional trips can still be booked at the regular fare.

Eligibility is managed by Kingston Access Bus (KAB). External link opens in new tab or windowYou can register using this link or call 613-542-2512. For KAB to assess eligibility, you will need to complete a full application form along with a healthcare professional assessment.

Cards issued by the Kingston Area Taxi and Licensing Commission, including expired or temporary cards, will stay valid until Jan. 5, 2026. After that date, eligible riders will need to show their Kingston Access Bus client ID card.

We encourage you to complete the eligibility process with KAB as soon as possible, so you will have your client ID card ready for the transition in January 2026. Current Access Bus clients do not need to reapply.
